Phoenix

Starting with just a few employees in 1977, SmithGroup’s Phoenix location has grown to more than 140 architects, engineers, interior designers and landscape architects. This interdisciplinary team focuses in markets that range from Health to Workplace, to Higher Education and Science & Technology.

As the firm’s center of excellence in forensic science and mission critical facilities, Phoenix team members work on projects across the US and the world. General Motors, GoDaddy and Caterpillar represent just a few of our Fortune 500 clients. Regionally, the Phoenix office serves the Colorado, Utah, Nevada and New Mexico markets. Designs we created for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado received two “Lab of the Year” honorable mention awards. We’re proud to play an integral role in several prominent Arizona projects, including the Banner Ocotillo Medical Center, University of Arizona Applied Research Building and The Adeline, luxury high-rise multifamily apartments.

Collaborative, creative, flexible and friendly are just a few words that describe the culture of our Phoenix office. We truly are a team, gathering together each month specifically to talk with our colleagues in other practices and disciplines, share our work and learn about firm-wide initiatives. We have a good time together and forge friendships through volunteer opportunities and employee events such as Movie Night, Yappy Hour, the Bags Tournament, our Annual Holiday Party and our Halloween Costume Contest.

We believe that philanthropy and volunteerism enrich our workplace, and strengthen our roots in the communities where we work and live. What’s more, the firm gives us the time to give back, providing every team member 15 additional Fridays off each year. SmithGroup team members are active members in Phoenix community, supporting the Phoenix Community Alliance, Arizona Forward, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, UMOM New Day Centers and Homebase Youth Services. Our office is also a key sponsor of the Arizona Alliance for Construction Excellence chapter, mentoring high school students interested in pursuing a career in the industry.
