“Lori Cappuccio’s expertise in developing spaces for engagement and collaboration has been celebrated by our higher education clients across the Mid Atlantic region,” said David Varner, director of SmithGroup’s Washington, DC office. “Her natural leadership skills, creativity and energy, coupled with the talented team around her, exemplifies our ability to excite our clients and enhance their educational missions.”
Since joining the firm in 1998 as an architect, Cappuccio has successfully led design and project delivery for a wide range of projects, including the American University Washington College of Law, Washington, DC; George Mason University Founders Hall, Fairfax, Virginia; Gallaudet University Sorenson Language and Communication Center in Washington, DC; Old Dominion University New Chemistry Building – Physical Science Phase I, Norfolk, Virginia and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Nursing and Instructional Building.
A mentor to young professionals and an advocate for women in the profession, Cappuccio has put her leadership skills to work outside the office.
