Business development director Ashley Schmidt has been named one of 2018's Leading Women by The Daily Record, a business and legal magazine for Maryland. Each year, the publication honors fifty Marylander women who are forty years of age or younger and who demonstrate extraordinary accomplishments in their careers. Candidates are nominated by peers and selected by a panel who judge on professional experience, community involvement and a commitment to inspiring change.
Ashley was recognized for her founding of the Women in Healthcare organization, dedicated to mentoring and growing the number of women in healthcare leadership. She founded the non-profit in 2016 after recognizing that while the majority of the healthcare workforce is female, leadership roles are largely held by men. Women in Healthcare has grown tremendously since its founding, now supporting over 150 members.
