Ahmad finds valuable lessons in taking the time to observe and listen to the world around him, whether it’s the "true beauty of a fresh flower" or the ideas of others. "That’s when I began to realize that my designs should create an environment to facilitate the celebration of relaxing sounds, beautiful nature and human souls," he explains. "Architecture provides the opportunity to eliminate disturbing noises and wasteful activities, and design spaces that elevate our spirits." One of Ahmad’s favorite buildings is a mosque in Isfahan, Iran. "It has been constructed by different builders over the last 1,500 years," he explains. "You could see the traces of all those generations, governments and building techniques in that building." Ahmad also shares that he’s a good cook. "When I cook, I use my philosophy of living in the moment—so I never make the same dish twice!"
