Working primarily on higher education projects, Carl appreciates that he is surrounded by “people who want to learn, teach and improve our world,” he says. “We have the opportunity to craft something that can inspire students to grow and challenge the norm.” Carl also believes in challenging the norm. “We need to always challenge ourselves to improve and grow our design, work environment, profitability, quality control—everything,” he suggests. That eye to future knows no bounds for Carl, who would love a peek at the far future—Year 12022 or so. “I would like to see how or if we have evolved as a global society, how far we have reached out beyond our planet,” he says. For now, Carl will settle for his dream destination: In orbit aboard the International Space Station.
