Carla’s career in business development is a front-line people position, identifying and building strong client relationships. It’s a role that takes confidence and independence, traits Carla developed early. When she was in elementary school, her parents sold their family home and hit the road, home-schooling Carla as they traveled across the U.S. for 18 months in a motor home. “We visited national parks and places of historical significance, keeping journals along the way,” she recalls. “Being away from home taught me to be self-reliant, and being away from my friends taught me the value of getting to know people.”
