You’ll find Kent at his desk early, usually before 6:30 a.m. "I like to get to work on focused tasks before the rest of the team comes in," he explains. Then it’s all about team work for this senior project manager, in discussions with staff, clients, consultants and contractors. "I strive to understand what clients mean and get on the same page with them. The rest of the work flows from that," notes Kent. He likes digging into large, complex projects, like the Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Satisfaction comes, he says, from helping the team succeed—and the client awarding them the next stage of the project. Kent is intrigued by the early 20th century, drawn to the creative talents of Louis Comfort Tiffany, Frank Lloyd Wright and Sergei Rachmaninoff, "although I acknowledge it wasn’t a good time to be a minority or a woman," he adds.
