Min is reminded of the impact of architecture when he looks at Google Earth. “The scale and volume of our work are shaping the world.” he remarks. “Life can be enhanced by design, from a livable smart city to a patient-centric hospital. I am proud of being an architect and find a lot of fun from my work.” As project director in SmithGroup’s Shanghai office, Min is an instrumental link in many of the firm’s collaborative healthcare and senior living projects in China. He also finds inspiration from yet another place and time: ancient Rome. “I was deeply moved when I stepped into the Pantheon,” Min says. “The concise form, splendid space, great structure, delicate details, and holy connection between human and sky all tell the creativity of the human being and the beauty of architecture.”
