Much of Sherry’s work focuses on urban high-rise residential projects. “They bring 24/7 life to the city, adding vitality, identity and security to urban neighborhoods. Well-designed projects also achieve effective solutions for sustainability, and resident health and wellness.” Sherry is a keen student of architecture history. Noting that 2019 is the centennial of the Bauhaus, she re-read a biography of Bauhaus founder Walter Gropius, part of her well-loved collection of architecture books. “Although the Bauhaus lasted little more than a decade, the school’s influence on modern architecture is significant and relevant today.” While Director of Interiors and Graphics for The Architects Collaborative, Sherry designed several of the annual “Gropefest” posters honoring Gropius, a founding partner of the firm. Sherry professes a passion for art, creating color palettes, and greenery. “Living without potted plants and flowers,” she says, “would not be an option.”
