Joe supposes that engineering is "in the family DNA," and it was apparent early. "As a kid, I was always fascinated by electricity, taking things like toasters and radios apart," he reports. "At some point, I thought, ‘What’s bigger than a toaster and uses more electricity? A building, of course!’" He followed his father and grandfather into engineering, and today designs innovative electrical systems for the firm’s healthcare projects. Joe says he’s guided by the Engineer’s Code "to hold paramount the safety, health and welfare of the public." While he clearly takes his work seriously, Joe reveals that he also inherited his father’s sense of humor of cracking corny jokes and playing pranks. "So I try to continue that time-honored tradition at work, during team meetings and road trips." Joe also puts his electrical engineering skills to work at home, where the family raises chickens in a Trusk-designed solar-powered chicken coop.
