The People's Park
The historic urban parks within Chicago's 26 miles of lakefront serve a diverse population within the city's South Side neighborhoods, along with a variety of active and ecological functions. When it came time to update the park's framework plan the Chicago Park District called upon SmithGroup and a variety of experts to make the visions of many a unique reality. Author Riley Collins sat down with SmithGroup's Gregg Calpino and Kris Lucius to discuss this history and processes that brought this project to life.
