SmithGroup Welcomes Tina Giorgadze as Health Design Director, Interior Design
SmithGroup, one of the nation’s leading integrated design firms, has named Tina Giorgadze as a Design Director focused on Interior Design within the firm’s Health Market. Giorgadze brings a nationally recognized portfolio in healing environments and a deep commitment to design excellence that enhances the patient, family and caregiver experience.
Giorgadze joins SmithGroup with an extensive background in healthcare design, previously serving at Perkins&Will and Montanio Design Group. Over her career, she has emerged as a leader in medical planning and interior design for complex healthcare environments. Her portfolio spans transformative work for major health systems including Kaiser Permanente, Providence Health, UCLA Health, Cedars-Sinai, Sharp HealthCare, Swedish Hospital in Seattle, Washington, University of Miami, Intermountain Health-Alta View Hospital and Covenant Health, as well as international healthcare projects.
Known for embracing complex design challenges, Giorgadze continually seeks innovative, forward‑thinking solutions that improve outcomes and elevate the human experience in clinical environments. Across her work, she advocates for design that uplifts human dignity and supports the healing process. Her projects have been recognized with industry awards, featured in national publications, and advanced through her active participation in conference presentations, panel discussions, university lectures and design juries.

Giorgadze is an advocate for equity, research and professional advancement. She promotes research-based practice among emerging designers and currently serves as Co-Vice President of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion for the IIDA Southern California Chapter. Giorgadze holds LEED AP Interior Design + Construction, NCIDQ and Certified Healthcare Interior Designer (CHID) credentials.
In her new role at SmithGroup, Giorgadze will collaborate closely with Sam D’Amico, Health Design Director for Architecture, and design leaders across the firm to strengthen SmithGroup’s national impact in healthcare design. She will champion design quality, lead major healthcare interior design projects, mentor emerging talent and represent the firm through thought leadership, speaking engagements and advocacy initiatives.
