Mark Roddy

Building on the success of landmark public projects that include Chandler City Hall and Sunnyvale Civic Center, Mark brings extensive experience in creating innovative, community-centered environments that advance the firm’s civic practice. “I’d describe myself an architectural purist," he says. “Architecture is fundamentally rooted in structure, organizational strategies and big ideas rather than superficial expression.” He believes architecture should be environmentally responsible, achieving a balance between beauty and function. “Working on net-zero energy and LEED Platinum projects has been transformative in imagining how architecture and space respond to the surrounding community.” This passion has resulted in a body of work of civic projects that have been nationally recognized for achieving the highest level of sustainable design. “I strive to design buildings that are sensitive to their environment, both in regard to sustainability and urban fabric.”
