Andrew Dunlap Honored by ASTM with Werner H. Gumpertz Award
SmithGroup is pleased to announce that Andrew Dunlap, vice president and building technology studio leader, has been honored by ASTM with the Werner H. Gumpertz Award.
This eminent award is bestowed to members of the organization that have demonstrated significant contributions to the field of building technology and multidisciplinary technical problem-solving in the construction industry. Dunlap was recognized for commitment to advancing building enclosure technology through leadership in ASTM and other industry groups, and dedication to education and mentoring.
“I am honored to receive this award. SmithGroup has been involved with ASTM for more than 50 years, and my participation is part of a long lineage of leaders who have contributed to this organization,” says Dunlap. “To be recognized in Werner Gumpertz’s name, someone who gave 57 years of service and helped shape the very standards our industry relies on, is both humbling and inspiring. People like Werner and the leaders before me had a part in building this foundation and I'm proud to carry it forward.”
Dunlap received his bachelor of architecture, his master of architecture, and his bachelor of science in mathematics from the University of Detroit Mercy.
