Joon Kim
Joon is a self-described early bird, and an upbeat one at that “I always enjoy the peaceful early morning in the office,” he says. “It is one of my favorite daily rituals to walk along the quite hallway and think about the new and the good waiting for me today.” Often what’s waiting are academic medicine projects, which Joon particularly enjoys working on. “It is a place where medicine and science meet together through clinical and educational spaces, offering curing and learning opportunities of so many occupants with different experiences and expertise.” says Joon. Asked about a favorite book or film, Joon cites Parasite, a highly acclaimed South Korean film that won the Academy Awards Best Picture in 2019. “I enjoyed seeing architectural elements represented as lines played key roles to lead the sequence of the story and they are well embedded throughout the movies.” he explains. “Also, it offered me nostalgia, set in Seoul where I was born and enjoyed half of my life.”
