Bradley Lockwood

“Working in higher education gives us the unique privilege to influence thousands of lives,” remarks Brad. “Whether a world-class research facility or a small community college renovation, we’re building environments that enable discovery, learning and growth for real people, every day.” Brad finds that some of his most memorable projects weren’t the largest or most lauded, but the hardest. “Those are the ones that taught me resilience and how to guide clients and teams through adversity. They force you to grow,” he says. Raised with a love of the natural world, Brad turns to the mountains when asked about his favorite building: Therme Vals in the Swiss Alps, which he describes as unforgettable for Peter Zumthor’s “use of mass and void, and connection to its alpine setting.” A childhood fascination with frontier skills also left Brad with an uncommon talent. “As a kid, I performed trick roping at theme parks and festivals with an old cowboy,” he reveals. “It’s a weird and special part of my past I’m passing on to my kids. Yeehaw.”
